Blountville,
TN – Rockstar Makita
Suzuki’s Josh Creamer topped the podium at
round seven of the AMA ATV Motocross Championships
and teammate Dustin Wimmer joined him in third,
while Can-Am/Motoworks’ Chad Wienen would
take second overall after an impressive moto one
win.
The weather was warm and humid for round eight
at Muddy Creek Raceway as temps hovered just under
the 90 degree mark and humidity was at a balmy
51%. Track looked great and conditions were good
despite a somewhat low turnout. With Joe Byrd
and Clay Holmes still on the injured list and
not expected to return until round eight, there
were only 14 pros on the starting gate.

Josh Creamer charged from the back of the
pack to take 2nd in Moto One |
Suzuki mounted Josh Creamer was off to a good start
as well, but he was pushed off the track in the
first turn and fell to the back, but Creamer put
on a fierce charge and worked his way up to second
before crossing the finish line. In moto two, Creamer
shot off the gate, laying claim to the moto two
holeshot. Creamer held his lead for several laps
before his teammate Wimmer would get by him. Although
Wimmer was out front, Creamer knew he only had to
finish second to get the overall and keep the points
lead, so he played it smart, going 2-2 to take the
overall win.

Josh Creamer grabbed the Moto 2 holeshot
(above left) and he held the lead early
on before #1 Dustin Wimmer made the pass
for the lead, but Creamer's 2nd place
finish was more than enough to claim his
3rd straight Overall Win

“I’m really happy to be on the podium
again. I just tried to ride smart and stay focused.
I have to thank the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team
for all of their hard work. I couldn’t be
up here on the podium without their support,”
stated Creamer.

Chad Wienen claimed the Moto One win |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Chad Wienen got a good
start in moto one as he came off the line in the
top five. Wienen would battle hard and just a
few laps before the finish, he would make a move
on Jeremy Lawson to take the moto one win. In
moto two, Wienen was determined to be on the podium
at the end of the day and he charged off the line
in fifth and soon took over fourth place. Wienen
would climb to the number three spot by the midway
point and hold that position all the way to the
checkered flag. His solid 1-3 finishes would give
him second on the podium.
“It really felt great to take the win in
moto one. I was feeling good out there and the
quad was running awesome. For me to take that
win really helps with my confidence for round
nine,” said Wienen.
