Even
at 42 Years Old, Doug Gust continues to
dominate racers nearly half his age as he
secured his second striaght 2nd Overall
& 4th Podium over the past five races |
In moto one, Gust also held off Honda’s
Joe Byrd for several laps before falling to third
place, where he would stay until reaching the
checkers. In moto two, Gust was right in the mix
of things as he was third off the line behind
Byrd, and Wimmer, with Kawasaki’s Josh Creamer
nipping at his heals. Gust and Creamer would battle
back and forth several times before Creamer would
get around the veteran racer, but in a twist of
fate, Gust would move into second place just before
crossing the finish line when Creamer and Byrd
got together. “It was really intense out
there but that was some of the best racing I have
seen in a long time. Since I was right behind
all those guys I had a perfect view to!”
Gust said with a laugh. Gust’s 3-2 finishes
put him in the second spot on the podium and has
moved him into the number four position in the
points race.

Dustin Wimmer (1st), Josh Upperman (3rd)

Josh Upperman put in two solid motos and was
also able to capitalize on the moto two action
that took Joe Byrd and Josh Creamer out of the
top spots. Upperman was in a comfortable sixth
place behind Can-Am Warnert racing’s John
Natalie, but moved into fourth rounding the final
corner. Although he finished behind Natalie in
the second moto, Upperman’ 5-4 finish gave
him the final spot on the podium.

on Motowork's Jeremy Lawson, which allowed
him to edge out John Natalie for the final

Racing's John Natalie jr finished in the
4th Spot in Moto 2, and just missed earning
a spot on the Podium in front of his hometown

John Natalie made a hard charge in moto one,
working his way up from 13th place into 7th before
crossing the finish line. In the second moto,
a better start helped Natalie maintain a top five
position and cross the finish line in third to
give him fourth overall.
Despite his moto two mishap, Kawasaki Monster
energy’s Josh Creamer still managed to finish
in the top five. “It was a really tight
knit race. On the last lap I snuck by Wimmer and
came up on Byrd. I came into the corner and I
don’t really know what happened from there.
We were all really going at it and it all happened
really fast, said Creamer. The close encounter
with Creamer would put Joe Byrd in sixth overall.
