Berwick, PA (4/19/2010) -The
first round of the AMA Harescramble Quad Nationals
kicked of this past weekend in the hilly Northeast
region of Pennsylvania. As we made our way through
the foothills of the many State Forests in Northeastern
Pennsylvania, we thought our entire day would
be filled with umbrellas and raincoats. Fortunately
for us, and the racers, it was not.
Yoshimura/Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Chris
Borich was on hand to provide much entertainment
for the fans at the Evansville, MX park, and ultimately
created a dominating first place finish with over
a 4 minute lead on second and third place finishers
Blake Kramer and Nathan Thomas.
Many fans from the Northeast were in attendance
for Saturday’s Quad National Harescramble
race. The weather was less than favorable for
spectating as the winds were beginning to pick
up in the late morning and did not cease until
late in the afternoon. The skies were overcast,
a light mist was in the air, and a hooded sweatshirt
or jacket was a requirement, but this did not
stop the hot action that was beginning to brew
as racers prepared their machines.

A buzz was stirring amongst the crowds in the
pit areas as the white trailer of Yoshimura/Rockstar/Makita
Suzuki’s Chris Borich pulled in and began
to prepare for the Quad AA morning session. A
treat for the fans who otherwise may not be able
to make it to a GNCC National race.
Off the line it was Jarrod McClure on his Polaris
Outlaw pulling the clear holeshot followed by
the #41x of Nathan Thomas on his Honda 450r and
the #1 of Chris Borich and his Suzuki LTR450.
Heading into turn one Nathan Thomas slips by McClure
and leads the pack through the uphill rhythm section.

Turn two leads you right and then into a downhill
tabletop where McClure once again takes over the
lead position and takes the pack down into the
lower sections and thick woods of Evansville,
MX Park. Borich makes his way past Thomas and
McClure and gains control of the lead by the end
of the first lap. Borich would stay in this position
all the way to the checkered flag 2 hours later.
