“It was tough because there was a lot of lap traffic out there and it was hard to get around since the track was so rough, but we did really well. We found a few places to pass and that added a few seconds to our time and we were able to pull ahead a bit from the rest of the pack. It felt great to take the win and I am already looking forward to next year’s race,” said Horik.

2013 12 Hours of La Tuque Defending SxS Champion Yani Desjardins completed 35 laps in Heat 1 to earn the win in his Can-Am Maverick

Can-Am’s Yani Dejardins was leading the pack in the first heat. Desjardins was tied in laps, with 35 laps, but had the time advantage of about 20 second over the competition. Desjardins was looking strong in the second heat, but ran into issues late in the race and would be forced to settle for second place after an intense battle for the win with Horik.

Rossi Racing’s Diane Rossi did quite well against her male counterparts. Rossi completed 28 laps in the first heat and 23 in the second, which allowed her to round out the top three in the Open 851-1000 class.

Can-Am’s Derek and Jason Murray made the trek to Canada for the race, and were one of the favorite teams to place well, but a huge crash in the beginning of the race took them out of the running and back to the pits.

Derek Murray was one of the fan favorites to win the 12 Hours of La Tuque as he recorded the second fastest lap time during qualifying with a time of 1:41 but on the first lap Murray wrecked while going over a jump putting an early end to his race
