& the other Pro XC1 racers |
Chino, CA (5/24/2010) - Yoshimura’s
Chris Borich continued his domination of the 2010
GNCC ATV series with a decisive win at the Mountain
Ridge race this weekend in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
The win marks Borich’s fifth victory of
the season. He hasn’t finished off the podium
this year, and he leads the series 23 points ahead
of second place.
With the rain falling and the course muddy
and slick, Borich kept his Yoshimura-powered
Suzuki R450 near the front of the pack for the
entire race. While the lead was traded among
a couple of racers, Borich used all the power
he has on tap to skillfully maneuver around
the competition and put himself in the lead
across the finish line.
“We got the win, and the Yoshimura power
worked awesome,” Borich said. “I
got a good start and at the end of the race
was really able to put the power to the ground
and pulled close to a 15-second lead to get
the win. It was pretty much a survival race,
and it was essential to get a good start and
pick good lines. The track came together at
the end there and we started to really go.”
Borich is the 2009 GNCC ATV champion, and he
plans to continue defending his title at the
next round of GNCC action. Look for Borich’s
No. 1 Yoshimura-powered ATV to be on the podium
again at the John Penton in Millfield, Ohio,
on June 5.
