Yoshimura Podiums in Every Class

Chino, CA (3/8/2010) - Yoshimura R&D of America had a spectacular week during the 69th annual Daytona Beach Bike Week in Florida. With races ranging from GNCC ATV to AMA American SuperBike, there was a Yoshimura-prepped machine on the podium.

This week saw two GNCC events, and Yoshimura was on the podium in the GNCC ATV class both races. Chris Borich, the 2009 GNCC ATV champion, won the first GNCC ATV Pro race of the season at River Ranch, Fla., and started his 2010 season off right. His Yoshimura-prepped QuadRacer R450 was in top condition and took the two-hour race by storm. In the second of the ATV races this week at the Maxxis General in Georgia, Borich battled his way to a second-place finish.

In the AMA American SuperBike class, the Yoshimura-equipped Rockstar Makita Suzuki racers took to the track to battle it out at 200 miles per hour. Tommy Hayden took his GSX-R1000 to two second-place finishes, missing the win in the second race by only .009 of a second. His two podium finishes give him a solid spot in the points standings as the series heads to Fontana, Calif.

The Supercross race was exciting, as the track sat in the infield of the legendary Daytona track. Three of the top-five spots in the Supercross 450 class were held by Yoshimura-backed racers, including Ryan Dungey who took second in Daytona and remains 20 points ahead of the other racers in the points standings. The Honda Red Bull Racing team’s three riders finished off the top five, with Trey Canard getting the third spot on the podium, and his second podium finish in the three 450-class races he’s competed in. Davi Millsaps took fourth with his Yoshimura-outfitted Honda CRF450.

In the Eastern Regional Lites class, the Yoshimura-prepped Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z250 took second with Austin Stroupe’s performance. Stroupe also grabbed the holeshot in the race.

Yoshimura has the right formula to keep all these machines working at optimum performance. Expect to see more victories and podium finishes from Yoshimura-backed racers as racing continues in 2010.
