Sweeps Steel City ATV MX Pro Podium
|
Chino, CA (6/1/2010) - Yoshimura racers dominated the podium at Round 5
of the AMA ATV MX series this weekend at Steel
City in Pennsylvania. The top three riders after
two motos were Josh Creamer, Dustin Wimmer, and
Thomas Brown, who all made it to the top of the
class. All three racers finished in the top three
in both motos, and made their way to the podium
at the end of the day. Their Yoshimura-equipped
quads pulled all day long and were impossible
to beat.
Josh Creamer left no question about his talent
and speed as he took his Yoshimura-powered Suzuki
QuadRacer R450 to the top of the box on Sunday
after finishing first in both motos. Creamer’s
first moto start put him in 13th place at the
beginning of the race, but the power of his
Yoshimura QuadRacer R450 allowed him to pass
every rider in front of him during the 20-minute
moto to end the race in first place. “My
Yoshimura motor was working well around the
track and really pulled up the hills,”
Creamer said after the race.

Josh Creamer grabbed a 1st place finish
in both motos on Sunday, however this
did not come easy as he had to work his
way thru the pack each time |
Dustin Wimmer finished 2nd on the day
behind teammate Josh Creamer, the duo
have been on the podium at every round
this season thus far! |
Dustin Wimmer had a similar start to the first
moto, coming out of the gate in 12th place and
working his way up to third by the time the
checkered flag flew. “My quad was working
well; the shocks were good and the tires were
good, I just needed a better holeshot,”
Wimmer said. Yoshimura’s Thomas Brown
and his potent Yamaha YFZ450R had a solid start
in third place in Moto 1, and eventually worked
his way into second. The Yoshimura exhaust on
his Yamaha has really helped Brown break into
the front of the class in 2010.
In the second moto, Josh Creamer again took
the victory. His 1-1 finishes put him on top
of the podium and put him in the series points
lead. “It feels good to be back in the
lead,” Creamer said. “Hopefully
we can keep it for when it counts – at
the end of the season.”
Dustin Wimmer finished second in the second
moto after passing Thomas Brown, who finished
third. Wimmer’s 3-2 finishes put him in
second place overall and only three points out
of the series lead. Brown’s 2-3 finishes
put him in third overall and he’s currently
in the top 5 in series points.

Brown grabbed 11th overall this past
weekend at round 5
|
Yoshimura’s Pat Brown is in eighth place overall in points after finishing
11th at Steel City. He’s only been out of
the top-10 twice this season and hopes to put
his Honda TRX450R’s Yoshimura engine and
exhaust in the top 10 in the coming rounds of
racing. Yoshimura racer Harold Goodman finished
18th overall with 13-15 moto finishes.
The next round of AMA ATV MX racing takes place
June 12-13 at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota.
