Chino, CA (5/17/2010) -
It was a battle until the end for the Yoshimura
riders in the AMA ATV MX series, and Dustin Wimmer
and Josh Creamer battled their way to the front,
landing on the podium once again. The Yoshimura
duo took home second and third, respectively,
at Sunset Ridge in Walnut, Illinois, allowing
Wimmer to take the overall points lead, five points
ahead of Creamer.
“My Yoshimura-powered Rockstar Makita
Suzuki bike was working awesome this weekend!”
said Creamer. “The track held up a lot
better than planned, so we had fast racing.”

Dustin Wimmer finished second on the podium
at Sunset Ridge after a 3-1 finish |
Josh Creamer finished his day with a third
place spot on the podium in Illinois |
After coming off the line in sixth place for
moto one, Wimmer made his way up the track behind
Creamer to finish in third. Creamer played it
a little more timid by coming out of the starting
gate in fourth. He trailed behind a bit to get
a feel for where things were headed before making
his move into second, a spot he would hold until
the finish. Thomas Brown also had a good battle
in the final lap of the first moto on his Yoshimura-prepped
YFZ450. Brown cleared his way into fourth past
Pat Brown, on his TRX450 with Yoshimura engine
work, ended up taking fifth. Unfortunately for
Thomas Brown, he was disqualified after his
axle nut came loose and he received mechanical
help beyond the mechanic’s area.

#99 Pat
Brown had a bad second moto when his
fuel line came off & later restarted
an entire lap later but pushed hard
and landed in 8th place overall
|
The second moto fared better for Dustin Wimmer.
While he came off the starting line in second,
Wimmer claimed first place after several laps,
while Creamer finished fifth due to unexpectedly
pulling his kill switch while going over a jump
and causing him to land off the track. “I
ran into some bad luck about half way through,”
Creamer said, “but I put my head down and
got back into podium position!”
The second moto proved to be a problem for
Pat Brown, as well, whose fuel line came off
and he was unable to return to the race for
an entire lap. Pat Brown finished the moto in
14th while Thomas Brown received a DNF.
Harold Goodman and his Yoshimura-prepped ATV
did well in both the first and second moto,
grabbing a 10th-place finish in the first moto
and 11th in the second.
Round 5 of the AMA ATV MX series takes place
May 29-30 at Steel City in Delmont, PA.
