Chino, CA (3/29/2010) – The first
round of the 2010 AMA ATV MX Series was a four-way
top ten win for Yoshimura: two Yellows, one
Red and one Blue. After a drenching morning
in Pell City, Alabama, the skies cleared just
in time for the first Pro moto at Millcreek
MX.
Rockstar Makita Suzuki's two-time champion
Dustin Wimmer took his Yoshimura-powered Suzuki
QuadRacer R450 to a double moto win to start
off his charge for a three-peat! Wimmer dominated
both motos in a follow-the-leader kind of racing.
"Everything just worked great for me out
there," Wimmer said after the race. "I
love Pell City and I've won six races here in
the last three years. I couldn't do it without
all the support I have from my team and sponsors."
Josh Creamer, Rockstar Makita Suzuki's newest
member, had two powerful starts on his QuadRacer
R450 taking both holeshots. Although his first
moto started strong, he got stuck in a berm
and had to settle for a sixth-place finish.
In the second moto, Creamer again grabbed the
holeshot but Wimmer was able to get around him
mid race; the two left the pack in the dust.
"Yoshimura makes a really good motor on
this QuadRacer R450," Creamer announced
to the crowd from the podium. "This thing
flies, it really does!"
Thomas Brown is the newest Yoshimura-sponsored
rider and Pell City was his first race sporting
the RS-2 on his Yamaha YFZ450. "I love
the pipe," Brown commented after his first
moto. "When we were looking at pipes, I
wanted the best out there. I was lucky enough
that they wanted to help me out." Brown
ended up in seventh place with a pair of 8th
place finishes.
Pat Brown completes the top ten round-up, another
newcomer in the Yoshimura camp on his TRX-450R.
Pat rode two solid races coming in 9th and 11th
for a spot in the top ten. "I'm excited
about this year," Brown said. "Yoshimura
has a long history of winning races, and I'm
glad they chose me."
Team Yoshimura moves on to Bowling Green, Kentucky
on April 18th.
