Polaris/National
Guards' Jarrod McClure finished in 7th
place in he XC1 Pro class after a minor
mishap sent him off-tral & into some
thick mud. Before this he was running
in the top 3 for much of the race &
progressively moving up through the pack

The Snowshoe event is easily the most beautiful and toughest on the schedule.
The Racer Production crew makes this race really
difficult, with huge elevation changes, many mud
bog sections, and lots of rocks. The Grand Prix
style start is different from any other GNCC, with
racers starting five on a row at ten second intervals.
Jarrod McClure started on the second row since he
is in the top ten in season points.
The weather was great with clear skies and 81
degrees, making it hot in the sun but a little
cooler in the forest. Jarrod was pretty careful
on the first lap, and came through in 11th place.
Mistakes can result in getting stuck in what seems
like bottomless mud holes, or damaging your bike
on the many rocks.
Jarrod worked his way up to 4th on the lap 2
and 3rd on the lap 3 by riding smart and avoiding
bottlenecks. On the last lap, he was still running
well until about 2 miles from the finish, when
he slid into a tree in one of the worst mud areas.
He tried backing up but just buried the bike further.
After getting off and wrestling the bike for a
while, he finally got going. Unfortunately, Kizer,
Bithell and Cook all passed him while he was stuck,
and he finished 7th in the pro class.

All in all, the race went pretty well for the
team, and Jarrod was very happy with the way the
450 Polaris Outlaw ran strong all day long. The
Kenda tires with Tireballs worked great in the
varied conditions, especially on the slick muddy
hills and slippery rocks. We want to thank all
of our sponsors for their strong and loyal support,
because without them, we would not be able to
compete at this level.
The GNCC Series now takes its summer break, and
Jarrod plans on competing in some local and regional
races in PA and NY. He and William Yokley will
start preparing some new race machines for the
next GNCC event in the Unadilla New York on Sept.
11. William will also be making regular appearances
during the break for the National Guard at promotional
and recruiting events. Also, check out our updated
web site at www.yokleyracing.com.
We will see you around!
