The Steele Crek GNCC ATV Race Report
Steele Creek GNCC -
Round 3 - Morganton, NC - March 21, 2010
Frankfurt, KY (3/22/2010) -
National Guard Polaris Yokley Racing ATV Team
Rider Jarrod McClure finished 12th Overall and
9th in the XC1 Pro ATV Class today in Round 3
of the 2010 GNCC Series. There were 219 total
entries with 15 XC1 Pro Riders.
GNCC ATV Race Summary:
Sunny and warm conditions greeted
the racers as the series moved to the picturesque
Steel Creek area in North Carolina. This race
is usually run in wet conditions, but this year
it was very dry, hot and dusty. Jarrod got a decent
start and got into the woods in 8th place. After
a few turns in the woods, there was a bottleneck
caused by some ATV’s getting tangled up.
After this was sorted out, Jarrod was back toward
the rear of the Pro class at the end of the first
lap.
Jarrod finished lap one in 12th place, and worked
his way up to 9th place in the XC1 Pro class by
the 5th lap. He finished up about one second out
of 6th place, so it was a very competitive race.
The track deteriorated very much throughout the
race, which made the conditions pretty brutal.
The Polaris 450 Outlaw ran flawlessly throughout
the day.
The team has some testing planned for next week
and will work on fine tuning everything. We look
forward to the next race in Union, SC in two weeks.
Jarrod will be on the ATV, and William Yokley
will be racing the National Guard Polaris Dragonfire
Yokley Racing UTV there as well. See you there!
