GNCC ATV & SxS Race
Summary:
There is always a sense of urgency getting ready
for the second round of the GNCCs with only six
days in between the races. Traveling home to PA
to completely go through the ATV, which is necessary
due to a sand race, and then driving back to GA
makes for a tiring few days for Jarrod. No time
to train or practice, just driving, sleeping and
working on the bike.
Race day was perfect
in GA, sunny and temps in the 60’s. Jarrod’s
machine did not immediately start at the drop
of the flag. A delay as little as a second or
so puts you behind, and in Jarrod’s case,
dead last going into the woods. He worked his
way to 9th at the finish, right on the bumper
of 8th place. The bike performed very well, and
even though the hard, choppy red clay was totally
different than the sand in FL, it handled well.
The bike will be dialed in more this week to better
handle the terrain coming up in North Carolina
for the next ATV race in two weeks.
National Guard Dragonfire Polaris rider William
Yokley had a decent first race of the UTV season
with a 4th place. National Guard Polaris Yokley
Racing ATV racer Jarrod McClure was the guest
passenger in the RZR today. The new National Guard
Dragonfire Polaris RZR performed great for the
first time on a track this season.
William is already planning on making some minor
adjustments so he can be up front at the next
UTV race in South Carolina in four weeks. William
got caught up in a big bottleneck on the first
lap, and spent the rest of the race catching up,
overtaking several machines each lap.
The competition is tough and passing is difficult,
but William is excited and can’t wait for
the next race. The Dragonfire parts and accessories
make this RZR a great race machine! Yokley Racing
thanks all its sponsors for their support and
efforts!
