                                Ranch GNCC - River Ranch , FL - March 11, 2012
Frankfurt, KY (3/16/2012) -
                                Jarrod had a good off-season after a long 2011
campaign where he raced in both the WORCS and
GNCC Series. He trained and tested in Florida
leading up to the season opener in River Ranch.
After winning the GNCC 2011 “Most improved
rider Award” at last year’s banquet,
he was looking forward to competing for wins in
the XC1 Pro Class this year.

7 Jarrod McClure won the GNCC XC1 Pro Motosports
$250 Holeshot Award | River Ranch is a difficult test for rider and
machine with deep sand whoops and palmetto roots.
It shows who is prepared and in shape, and who
is not. The weather was good with temps in the
70’s, but just as the afternoon pro race
was lining up, the skies opened up and rained
heavily. The sandy soil soaks a lot of the moisture
up, but it still makes the ruts deeper and exposes
the palmetto roots which can unexpectedly and
quickly yank the machine off course. The flag dropped for the 2012 season and Jarrod
got the holeshot, winning the $250 Holeshot Award.
He led for much of lap 1, and came through the
scoring chute in 2nd place, just behind Adam McGill
and in front of Chris Borich. Jarrod felt confident
and the National Guard / Coastal / Bowers Motorcycle
Supplies / Yokley Racing ATV was handling well.
On lap 2, he had a terminal mechanical failure
which ended his day. Jarrod was disappointed,
but was very encouraged about how he and his machine
were competing. There is a short week before the next event in
Georgia on March 17. Much cleanup, repairs and
preparation have to be made for that race in the
red Georgia clay. Jarrod will be ready, and he
will join the National Guard / Polaris / Coastal
/ Yokley Racing Side by Side Team in Georgia,
where the Side by Sides begins their GNCC season.
