Frankfurt, KY (5/31/2011) - National
Guard Coastal Yokley Racing Team rider Jarrod McClure
was unable to finish today after a huge crash on
the first lap. There were 204 total entries including
16 XC1 Pro racers. New Yokley Racing Youth Motorcycle
Team rider Kaleb Hagan finished 38th Overall and
2nd in the 65 (10-11) class. There were 105 total
entries including 22 65 (10-11) racers.
The Rock Run GNCC race in Patton Pennsylvania
is in Jarrod McClure’s home state, and he
was really looking forward to a good showing.
Great weather and a very rocky, technical course
awaited the racers.
The race began with Jarrod getting a mid pack
start. On lap 1, in a high speed section, disaster
struck. Jarrod came up over a rise, and while
in mid air, came down and hit a large rock. The
ATV hit the rock right on the engine skid plate
when the suspension compressed. The impact ripped
the skid plate off, and caused the ATV to cartwheel
end over end. The initial impact as well as the
machine landing on Jarrod ended his race. He knew
he as hurt, and tried to get back to the pit area.
He was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Thankfully, there were no broken bones or major
injuries, just abrasions and bruising.
Jarrod says he will make the trip to next weekend’s
WORCS race in Idaho, and will try to race. He
will be sore, but he is young and in great shape!
The newest member of Yokley Racing is 11 year
old Kaleb Hagan. Kaleb competed on the Youth motorcycle
division in the 65 (10-11) class. There were 105
racers in this event, including many older kids
on larger bikes. Kaleb led the 22 riders in his
class for several laps, and with 2 laps to go,
his bike got a flat front tire after hitting a
rock. He finished the final laps on the flat tire
in 2nd place.
Great job Kaleb, and welcome to the team!
