Team Yamaha YFZ450R-mounted Walker Fowler, Johnny
Gallagher and Cole Richardson teamed up to win
the grueling annual Heartland Challenge 10-hour
ATV endurance race in Carlisle, Iowa on Saturday,
Aug. 16.

The GNCC off-road specialists held down first
place over 37 long laps, which took over 15
minutes apiece to complete, to take the win.
Starting in the early afternoon, the race ran
continuously until just before midnight. Both
daylight and nighttime conditions and a variety
of terrain, including dirt, rock piles and plenty
more, challenged riders and machines to the
maximum – especially as the track roughened
in the later stages of the race.

In addition, the 10-hour event length demanded
more than three hours of racing from each rider
– with multiple pit stops to be coordinated
along the way. At the finish, Fowler, Gallagher
and Richardson’s were a lap ahead of the next
team. Well done all!
