                                Cypress, CA (4/17/2012) - Aboard
her YFZ450R, Yamaha’s Traci Cecco raced
to her second win of the 2012 GNCC ATV season
at the annual Big Buck event in Union, South Carolina
on Saturday, April 14. In doing so, the multi-time
Women’s class champion moves into a tie
for the points lead with rival Angel Atwell in
the grueling 13-race off-road series as she aims
for a record ninth championship. Then in the afternoon
XC2 Pro Am class, Matt Hanna added a third-place
podium finish for Yamaha ahead of Yamaha-mounted
Patrick McGuire and Blake Kramer, making it three
YFZ450s in the top five. In XC1 Pro, Ballance
Racing Yamaha’s Taylor Kiser grabbed the
holeshot but experienced problems after one lap
and did not finish. His teammate Walker Fowler
also started strongly, but tangled with rival
Brian Wolf early in the race and likewise suffered
                                a rare DNF.

For her part, Cecco took command of the nearly
two-hour long Women’s race early and led
all four laps of the winding off-road course,
which included a mix of woods, hills, rocks,
mud, jumps and even water crossings. After grabbing
the lead, she increased her advantage over Atwell
to more than 18 seconds on the first lap, to
nearly 30 seconds at the halfway point, and
ultimately to a convincing 44 seconds at the
checkered flag. In fact, so fast was Traci on
her YFZ450R that she also finished third overall
among more than 220 entries in 20 different
classes in the morning event. The GNCC ATV series
next heads to Park City, Ky. on April 28.
