/ Ballance Racing's Taylor Kiser claimed
his first win of the 2012 GNCC ATV Racing
                                        season at Steele Creek |

                                Cypress, CA (4/2/2012) - Kiser
Wins North Carolina GNCC ATV XC1 Pro
Yamaha YFZ450Rs scored one overall win and two
podium finishes in the premier ATV classes at
the third round of the 2012 GNCC series in Morganton,
North Carolina on Saturday, March 31. Taylor
Kiser led the way by taking his first XC1 Pro
win of the year, with Walker Fowler in fourth.
In the XC2 Pro Am class, Yamaha-mounted Gabe
Phillips finished second, Patrick McGuire came
in fourth and Josh Merritt finished fifth. And
finally, Traci Cecco gave Yamaha its third podium
for the day by finishing third in the Women’s
race. In points, Yamaha’s McGuire continues
to lead the XC2 Pro Am, Cecco trails rival Angel
Atwell by a single point in the Women’s
class, and Kiser advances to second behind rival
Chris Borich in the top XC1 Pro class.

Three different riders led the exciting four-lap,
two-hour Women’s race on Saturday morning.
Lexie Coulter started off with a narrow lead
over Angel Atwell and Yamaha’s Cecco,
before Cecco took over control on lap two. Cecco
then led the middle part of the race, but the
competition was so tight that she never was
able to forge more than a five-second advantage
over any rival. Finally, on the fourth and final
lap, the order shuffled again as Atwell grabbed
the lead and led Coulter and Cecco to the checkers.
A wild finish saw the top three riders separated
                                  by just 3.1 seconds.
The XC1 Pro race was all Yamaha, with Walker
Fowler scoring the holeshot and leading the
first of five long laps. Eventual winner Kiser
started out over 10 seconds behind in fourth
place, but he closed the gap by lap two and
then jumped into the lead on lap three. Never
ahead by more than a couple of seconds, Kiser
found himself in the sights of defending series
champion Chris Borich with just a few corners
remaining, and the pair raced side by side –
and even touched wheels – as the race
screamed to a conclusion. Finally Borich crashed
                                  attempting a pass, handing Kiser a well-deserved
win. "Today was a lot of fun and the Ballance
Racing team is here to stay!” he said.
“Now we're ready to get some more race
                                  wins this season.”
