- Mitchell Masters Scottish Championship Opener
ATV World Yamaha rider John Mitchell took part
in a thrilling opening round of the Quad Racing
Scotland Championship on Sunday 3rd April at
the Fife Community Offroad Motorcycle Club track
in Cardenden.
With dry weather and a fast track, the dust
flew as the racing got underway. Riding his
2010 Yamaha YFZ450R, John got a good start to
race one and quickly took the lead. It was the
first time John had been back on his 2010 QRS
Championship winning machine and it didn’t
take long to get back to his winning ways, taking
first place in the opening race.
John wasn’t going to have it all his
own way when in race two, Leon Beda was riding
well and took first place just ahead of John
in second. Leon is a previous QRS Champion and
is looking in impressive form going into the
2011 season.
Race three started well for both John and Leon
as they made a good start. John took the lead
and rode superbly to win the final race of the
day and with it, the overall win.
John commented after the race: “I’m
really pleased with how everything has gone
today. Another overall win after my first round
victory at Silverstone in the NORA MX shows
my intention for this season. The bike was working
well for me and my Goldspeed tyres and Elka
suspension support me really well round these
fast tracks. Leon was riding really well, really
on the pace today. Now I’m looking toward
the first round of the British Championships
at Silverstone on the 17th April.”
Thanks to the race organisers and all involved
in putting together a superb round. John and
the ATV World Yamaha team now prepare for the
first round of the ACU Goldspeed British Quadcross
Championship 2011 at the Silverstone MX track.
Hope to see you there!
Thanks again for all the support from sponsors
who along with their outstanding products have
