Racing / Yamaha's Thomas Brown took Moto
1 win aboard his Yamaha YFZ450R ATV |
Cypress, CA (8/1/2011) - Yamaha's
Thomas Brown's 1-2 moto finishes at Michigan's
RedBud MX facility marked the first AMA Pro ATV
moto win of his career. In moto one, Brown
led early over rival John Natalie, slid to second
when Natalie rallied past, and then powered his
YFZ back into the lead to take the checkers. The
pair squared off again in the second moto, with
Brown riding like the wind to catch Natalie after
getting only a top-five start.
Undeterred, the Yamaha rider put his head
down, charged hard to erase the leader's gap,
and pulled alongside Natalie late in the race
in a dramatic charge through the whoops. But
time eventually ran out, and at the flag it
was Natalie and Brown finishing 1-2, giving
Brown second-place overall - and his closest-ever
run at an overall AMA Pro ATV win.
