WPSA Powersports ATV Championship Tour
Creates Amateur Advisory Board
White Bear Lake, MN (11/15/2007) - The
World PowerSports Association (WPSA) announced
today the formation of an Amateur Advisory Board
as it prepares for the upcoming WPSA PowerSports
ATV Championship Tour , which commences its 3rd
season in May 2008.
“Our amateur racing program is an important
part of the Championship series and
integral to the development of professional racers.”
said Kent Lungstrom, xecutive
Vice President of PowerSports Entertainment. “We
have always tried to listen to what our racers
and team owners have to say and we believe the
formation of an Amateur
Advisory Board will allow our racing community
to have a recognized forum for regular discussion
as the WPSA moves forward in pursuit of our company
mission to be the best racing value for our customers.”
“We invited board members who are well
respected within the amateur ranks who all have
a real interest in growing the sport of ATV racing.
They are willing to speak their minds and we believe
they represent a wide cross section of the amateur
racing community.” said Rick Murphy, CEO
of WPSA. “We look forward to learning from
them and expect continuing input as we develop
the racing plan for 2008 and beyond. I am sure
there will be some great ideas coming out of this
group.”
The board consists of six members, who have
all accepted the responsibility to act as representatives
on behalf of the amateur racers and their teams.
Board members
include: Ron Laurine, Mark Baldwin, Jody Bateman,
Deb Bartosek, Ginger Pittman, and Guy Land.
