Mesa, AZ (April 25, 2008) –
Scott Butler made the announcement earlier this
week that after nine years, as a key figure of
Lonestar Racing, that he is no longer with the
company. Scott’s departure comes as a surprise
to many who have recognized him as the face of
Lonestar for just shy of a decade.
Scott is a very knowledgeable and well-respected
figure in the ATV industry that has been responsible
for the design and development of Lonestar’s
aftermarket products. “They approached
me in 1999 when I was out there racing and asked
if I would be interested in coming on board
to help make their products better. Of course
back then all I wanted to do was race and be
involved in the industry, so I jumped at the
opportunity,” Scott recalled. At the time,
Scott had a full time job and took a 50% pay
cut just to pursue his dreams of having a career
in the ATV racing industry.
Scott’s duties at Lonestar were not just
limited to R&D as he was very involved with
public relations and the Lonestar race team
that his wife, Angela Butler, has been racing
with for many years. Scott was always at the
races and was a well-liked liaison for the company
at the track. Throughout the years Scott’s
dedication to the company and what he was doing
led him to spend much of his time working closely
with racers to ensure that he was developing
the best products possible. Scott also raced
for Lonestar and has won several championships
for them.
At this time Scott is still unsure what the
future holds for him, but he has a pretty good
idea of what he would like to do. “I really
like designing parts and working with the race
teams. I’ve always felt like Lonestar
was my family and my home. I’ve always
really liked the family atmosphere of the ATV
industry,” said Butler.
Scott is currently keeping his options open
and seeing what opportunities may present themselves
in the coming weeks. “I guess I’m
really just looking for a new place to call
home,” Scott concluded. Scott also points
out that if anyone is interested in his expertise
and skills he has to offer, he can be contacted
by email at scott.butler1@cox.net.
