Millville, MN (7/2/2014) - The Wienen Motorsports duo were back to the podium this past weekend at Round 6 of the Mtn. Dew AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship hosted at Spring Creek MX in Millville, Minn. Chad Wienen took home his fourth overall of the year after going 1-2 on the day and Thomas Brown rounded out the podium in third after a 5-1 finish. Wienen now sits 46 points ahead of second in Championship points and Brown sits in fourth thirteen points behind the rider sitting in third overall.

Wienen got off to a good start in moto 1 coming out of the first turn in the third place position. Wienen made quick work of the field and was able to climb into second by the end of the second lap and found the front of the field by the end of lap three. Wienen went on to gain a comfortable lead on the competition and crossed the checkers with a six second lead. Brown came out of the first turn in the back of the field and sat in ninth at the end of the first lap. Putting his head down, Brown was able to climb his way up through the field moving into sixth by the fourth lap and setting his sights on the fifth place rider. With more than three seconds between him and the rider ahead of him, Brown put in some fast laps and was able to close the gap with three laps to go and make the pass for fifth before the 2 lap board came out. Brown finished out the moto in 5th.
As the gate dropped for moto 2, both Wienen Motorsports riders were up in the front of the field, Brown came across the first lap in fourth and Wienen in sixth. Brown moved into second by the end of the second lap and set his sights on the front rider, Brown took over the lead before halfway through the moto and went on to take his first moto win of the weekend. Wienen had his work cut out for him but was able to make a pass a lap and sat in second halfway through the moto. Wienen looked to make a pass for the lead but was unable to make any advance on the field followed Brown and took second in moto 2.
Wienen Motorsports Pro-Am rider Nick Gennusa took his first podium finish of the season after going 1-6 this past weekend. Gennusa took over the lead on the last lap in moto 1 to get his first moto win of the season. After taking his first podium finish of the year, Gennusa will move onto Round 7 with the confidence he needs to fight in the front of the field.
The Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship will return for Round 7 at Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin, New York on July 12.
