MX Round 6. Wienen still holds down
first place in the Pro Points |
Galena, IL (6/20/2012) - Chad
Wienen secures a second place overall finish
at High Point Raceway on his Wienen Motorsports
SSi Walsh Yamaha YFZ450R with a 3-1 finish
Saturday.
Chad Wienen was looking to get back on the
top of the box this past weekend but after
a Moto 1 first turn pile up with Josh Upperman,
Wienen found himself at the back of the pack.
Wienen quickly put his head down and started
to close up the gap between him and the rest
of the field. At the halfway point in the
race Wienen found himself in third place.
After a hard charge Chad was unable to catch
the top two riders and came across the finish
line in third place.
"I wasn't satisfied about my start to
the weekend but I knew I had to put everything
I had into Moto 1 to catch up with the top
guys. I'm happy I was able to salvage points
and finish the race in the top three."
said Wienen.
In Moto 2 Wienen came out with a much better
start and was among the top three. Determined
to find the front, Wienen took over the second
place position by the end of the third lap
and quickly set his sights on the leader and
in less than a lap Wienen found himself out
front where he quickly set a comfortable lead
and took the Moto 2 win.
"I knew after the first moot I had a
chance to get an overall I put myself in a
good position and did all I could do by wining
moto 2. I am happy with the weekend, we had
our work cut out for us in moto 1 and in moto
2 we were able to take the maximum points
for a second place overall finish. I am excited
for the next race in Ohio and I am looking
to come out strong."
