Galena, IL (3/27/2012) - Chad
Wienen takes the win at Aonia Wienen goes 1-1
for the weekend Chad Wienen is back and he is
back on top with the Wienen Motorsports SSi
Walsh Yamaha machine. After going 1-1 over the
weekend Wienen was able to let all of the hard
work and determination pay off after his season
ending injury last year.
As the first gate of the season hit the
dirt, Wienen found himself
amongst the top five out of
the holeshot. By the end of the first lap
Wienen made his way up to the
third position and soon
after passed both John Natalie and Josh Upperman
for the lead. After
pressure from Joel Hetrick
and a short battle, Wienen established a solid
lead and was first to take
the checkers.
As Moto 2 went underway, Wienen came out
of the holeshot in a top three
position. After
quickly passing Josh Upperman Wienen had his
eye set on Natalie. After
making several attempts
to pass his old teammate it seemed as if Wienen
was going to remain in
second place as the
white flag came out. Wienen's determination
shined as he made a clean pass
on Natalie in the
last corner and came across the finish line
first making a clean sweep for
the weekend.
"I've been dreaming about this for months.
After being laid up in a
hospital bed and at home I
have been thinking about this moment for months
and to be able to come out
and go 1-1 this
first weekend definitely is a dream come true.
I look forward to what the
rest of the season has
to hold for myself and the rest of the Wienen
Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha
team." Said Wienen.
"I would like to thank everyone for their
support especially the sponsors
who have stuck behind
me I would not be sitting in this position
without you."
