St. Cloud, MN (10/27/2011) - Warnert
Racing’s Adam McGill took to the podium at
the Ironman round of the 2011 GNCC while teammate
Chris Bithell finished in a close fourth place.
The Warnert Side-by-Side team also took a top five
finish after a tough battle
The Ironman round of the series was also host
to the Second Annual Pink Race in support of cancer
awareness. Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill
was part of some extracurricular activities in
support of the cause. On Friday, McGill and several
other racers took time to hang out with the 5th
and 6th graders at New Market Elementary School
to make special Pink buttons that would also allow
the kids free admission to the GNCC this weekend
with many students showing up to Saturday’s
races, much to the delight of McGill and the others
who attended.
“I had the opportunity to go out to one
of the elementary schools in the area and talk
to the kids about racing and cancer awareness
and it was a lot of fun. I do this kind of thing
around home, but have never had the opportunity
to go out of state. A lot of the kids actually
showed up to the races the next day so it was
really cool,” said McGill, who was back
to business for Saturday’s races.
McGill got a good start as he left the line and
took an early lead in the first lap. McGill was
looking strong and fast, but lap traffic at the
midway point of the race sent him back to the
number four spot. McGill was able to regain the
lead for a short time, but he would not be able
to hold and ended his day in the number three
spot on the pro podium. “I got a good start
and was leading for the first couple of laps.
I fell back but was able to retake the lead, but
I fell back again and finished in third. I had
a good time out there anyway and it was a good
race, so I’m pretty happy,” stated
McGill.

Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell didn’t
get the best start, but he made up for it as he
put the hammer down and charged through traffic.
By the second lap, Bithell had moved into fourth
place and was within striking distance of Taylor
Kiser, who was holding down third. Bithell was
looking fast and smooth, but he was unable to
better his position before reaching the checkered
flag and would settle for a fourth place finish.
In the Women’s class, Lexie Coulter was
in third off the start and was looking consistent
as she held her position for three laps. Coulter
moved into second in lap four, but was unable
to hold her position and fell to fourth place
before crossing the finish line. Coulter is currently
third in points and should be able to hold strong
for the final round at Loretta Lynn’s.
