St. Cloud, MN (10/1/2011) –
Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill and Chris Bithell
took on the challenging terrain at Mountain Ridge
to take second and third on the Pro podium, allowing
McGill to close in on the points leader, while Women’s
class racer, Lexie Coulter took third in her class.
Weather conditions in Somerset, PA were good
despite quite a bit of rain that fell in the area
just days before the Warnert team was to hit the
track for round number ten of the 2011 GNCC series.
The twelve mile course featured about six miles
of fast and smooth riding that allowed for plenty
of passing opportunities, but the other six miles
of the course were treacherous with many rocks
and plenty of mud holes, but that didn’t
stop Adam McGill and Chris Bithell from charging
to the podium.

Going into the woods, there was a freight train
of racers and positions were swapped several times
early in the first lap, but Adam McGill was not
satisfied with just being in the mix. “I
was in the top ten off the line and I moved up
pretty quick. It seemed like no one wanted to
be out front so I took charge and took the lead,”
said McGill.
McGill was holding his lead and looked good as
he charged through the course, but at the end
of the third lap, McGill’s handlebars would
get hooked up on a tree, causing him to spin out.
The incident cost McGill the lead, but he was
quick to get back on track and hold on for a second
place finish. “I was able to make up some
valuable points for this round, but from now on
it’s going to be checkers or wreckers because
I have to win if I want the championship,”
said McGill.

Chris Bithell
was consistent throughout the race running
top five before making his move into third
before crossing the finish line at Mountain
Ridge

Chris Bithell was looking strong and consistent
as he charged off the line and was in the top five
heading into the woods. Bithell was holding down
fourth place going into the third lap but he rode
a smart race and made the pass for third before
taking the checkered flag. Bithell’s strong
performance also allowed him to move into the number
three spot in the pro points chase.
Women’s class racer, Lexie Coulter had
a solid run as she came off the line in the top
five and moved into the number three spot by the
second lap. The rough track did not slow her down
and she was able to maintain her third place status
all the way to the checkered flag. Despite a broken
arm that kept her from racing two rounds this
season, Coulter is still in fourth in points and
could move into the top three before the end of
the season.
Round number eleven of the 2011 GNCC series will
head to Power Line Park in St. Clairsville, OH
on October 8th, where the Warnert Racing team
will be going for the podium as the points battles
heat up for the final three rounds of the season.
