St. Cloud, MN (7/12/2011) –
Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell charged hard
at the John Penton round of the 2011 GNCC series
to take a top five finish, Putting him in fourth
in the pro points chase as the series heads into
the summer break.
Sunday Creek Motorsports Park was the hosting
facility for round eight and offered up good track
conditions with plenty of rocky trails, creek
crossings, and even a motocross section thrown
in for fun. The warm weather and good conditions
suited Chris Bithell well as he charged off the
line and took the lead before the end of the first
lap.
Bithell was looking strong as he charged through
the woods, but in the second lap, Bithell got
hung up and would fall back to third. Not one
to just give up, Bithell remounted a charge and
took back the lead. Bithell looked as if he could
be on his way to victory, but as the day wore
on, the track became rougher and sent Bithell
off the track straight into a tree stump. Bithell
was not hurt, but he was not able to get free
right away and it cost him his lead. Bithell pushed
hard and was able to make his way to the number
four spot before crossing the finish line. Bithell
is currently fourth in the points chase and only
two points off of the number three spot, which
he hopes to take over after the summer break.

Adam McGill ran into some mechanical issues
but was able to salvage some points. McGill
still sits second in the XC1 Pro ATV Class |
Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill was leading
going into the first lap, but McGill would suffer
a mechanical issue that put him back. McGill was
still able to ride and salvage points and is still
currently holding down second place in the points
championship race. “I’m disappointed
for sure, but I am going to go home and train
even harder because I want to come back from the
summer break and win and bring Warnert a championship,”
stated McGill.
After the summer break, Lexie Coulter, who has
been out with a broken arm is also expected to
make her return and will be going for the win
in the Women’s class.
The GNCC series will be on their summer break
until September 10th when the racing action picks
back up and heads to Unadilla in Somerset, PA
where the Warnert team will be going for the podium
as they race for the 2011 championship.
