St. Cloud, MN (3/29/2011) –
Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill and Chris Bithell
topped the podium at round three of the 2011 GNCC
series, with McGill taking his first win of the
season and Bithell finishing in a close second.
Conditions at Steele Creek in Morganton, NC were
ideal for racing as there was no dust and no mud.
Despite the threat of rain, Mother Nature decided
to cooperate and held off for Saturday’s
events, which made for a great day of racing.

celebrating his second place finish |
The thick clay soil and rocky creek beds of Steel
Creek seemed to make Adam McGill feel right at
home as he came off the start in fourth and took
the lead after a few miles into the first lap.
“After I took the lead Chris (Bithell) caught
up to me and we were having a really good race
between us, and going back and forth. In the last
lap, Borich got around us, but not too far from
the finish line, I heard his quad start to sputter
and I just gave it everything I had,” said
McGill, who was ecstatic to take his first win
since the Snowshoe round back in 2008. “I
am so happy to take this win for the team. I’ve
got my confidence back and I am ready for South
Carolina,” he added.
Chris Bithell was also having an excellent race
as he charged from a mid-pack start to catch McGill,
who was in the lead. Bithell and McGill went back
and forth with Bithell taking the lead for two
laps before he encountered a brake issue that
slowed him up a bit. However, Bithell wasn’t
about to go down without a fight and held on for
a solid second place, finishing only three seconds
behind McGill. “I’m really glad to
be on the podium again and I am hoping to keep
the momentum going,” said Bithell.

Warnert Racing's Lexie Coulter takes a second
place finish in Women's Class |
In the morning classes, Warnert Racing’s Lexie
Coulter was looking strong and fast as she charged
her way through traffic and went from mid-pack up
to second by the second lap. Coulter battled it
out with Angel Atwell, with Atwell taking over second
for one lap, but Coulter was on a mission and soon
made her way back into the number two spot and began
to close the gap on leader Traci Cecco, but did
not have enough time to get close enough to make
a move before reaching the checkered flag, giving
Coulter a solid second place finish. “It was
tough out there, but it was a really good race,”
said Coulter, who also claimed fourth overall in
the morning classes.
The Warnert Racing team hopes to keep their winning
momentum going at round four of the 2011 GNCC
series, scheduled for Aril 9th in Union, SC, where
Adam McGill and Chris Bithell will again be going
for the podium.
