Racing's Chris Bithell raises his second
place trophy

St. Cloud, MN (3/17/2011) –
It was another great weekend for the Warnert Racing
team as Chris Bithell and Adam McGill both charged
their way to the podium at round two of the 2011
GNCC series, while Lexie Coulter held strong for
a top five finish in the Women’s class.
Aonia Pass in Washington, GA was the hosting facility
for The General that saw good
conditions on the track even after heavy rains
hot the region just days prior to the race.
Some areas of mud and thick heavy clay were still
lingering for the day's events, but that
didn't hamper the efforts of the team.
In the XC1 Pro class, Chris Bithell charged
off the line and took the lead. Bithell was looking
impressive as he charged hard and kept the likes
of Bryan Wolf and Chris Borich at bay. Bithell
kept on the gas but in the final lap, Chris Borich
would get by but Bithell stayed close and tried
to recapture his lead to no avail. Bithell would
end his day in a respectable second place only
two seconds behind Borich. Bithell's solid and
consistent performances so far this season have
allowed him to secure second place in the points
chase.

Pro Racer Adam McGill claimed the fastest
lap of the afternoon race |
“This season has started out really well
for us. I felt really good out there and I'm glad
to be on the podium again,” said Bithell.
Adam McGill put in a hard charge after a slow
start and would join his teammate Bithell on the
podium. McGill was in tenth place off the start
and quickly moved into sixth before the end of
the first lap. In lap two, McGill laid claim to
the fastest lap time of the race with a time of
24:02.093 that would also bump him up to fourth
place. McGill kept on the gas and in lap four
he worked his way into third where he stayed until
reaching the checkered flag. “It was a good
day for our team with both Chris and I on the
podium. This gives us a lot of momentum and we're
going to carry it forward from here,” stated
McGill, who is currently fourth in pro points
In the Women's class, Lexie Coulter put in a
consistent run. Coulter was in the top three off
the start and held off Angel
Atwell for two laps before settling into a solid
fourth place. Coulter held her position for three
laps before tacking it to the
checkered flag. Coulter's strong performance so
far has her sitting in second in points ahead
of Traci Cecco and Kristen
Atwell.
Round three of the 2011 GNCC series will have
the Warnert Racing team heading to Steele City
in Morganton, NC, on
March 26th where Chris Bithell and Adam McGill
are hoping to repeat their podium success.
