Racing's Chris Bithell raises his fist in
celebration of his third place finish

St. Cloud, MN (3/9/2011)–
The first round of the 2011 GNCC series saw big
finishes from the Warnert Racing team with Lexie
Coulter taking the win in the Women's class and
Chris Bithell finishing on the pro podium.
River Ranch, Florida was once again the hosting
facility for the GNCC season opener and although
rain was in the forecast, Mother Nature held off
and allowed for sunny skies and near perfect conditions.
Track conditions started out good, but the sandy
soil soon gave way to big whoops and became rough
due to the Palmetto roots, but that did not deter
the team one bit.
In the afternoon XC1 pro class, Chris Bithell
was on a mission to make the podium. Bithell got
off to a good start and was in the top five after
the first lap. The top five were running tight
and the pressure was on, but Bithell stayed the
course and after battling with Taylor Kiser, Bithell
made his way into the number three spot in the
final lap allowing him to take his first podium
finish of the season. “It's definitely a
good way to start the season. My quad was running
excellent and I'm ready to take a win for the
team in Georgia,” said Bithell.

Racing's was leading the pack until he cam
in contact with a fence |
Adam McGill was in the top ten off the start,
but the number three Can-Am put in an incredible
charge, moving into sixth place by the end of
the first lap, but McGill was not content with
a mid pack position and charged on. McGill recorded
he fastest lap time of the race in lap two with
a time of 24:17.890 and continued to push until
he took the lead in lap three. McGill led for
two laps and looked like he could take the win,
but in the final lap, McGill came in contact with
a fence and fell back. “I was in a controlled
slide going around a corner and I got my tire
caught in some barbed wire,” explained McGill,
who would have to settle for a fourth place finish.
“I was feeling great out there so I'm just
going to keep moving forward from here and I'll
be shooting for the win in Georgia,” said
McGill.

In the morning classes, Lexie Coulter, who was the
Women's class winner in Florida last season, repeated
her success again this year. Coulter was in the
top five off the start and battled hard with Angel
Atwell and Traci Cecco for two laps before taking
the lead in lap three. Coulter also recorded the
fastest lap time of her class in the third lap with
a time of 25:31.344. “It felt great to take
that win for the team and I hope I can do it again
in Georgia next week,” stated Coulter.
Round number two of the 2011 GNCC series, the
Maxxis General round, will be held in Aonia Pass,
GA on March 12th where the Warnert team will be
