St. Cloud, MN (10/27/2010)–Warnert
Racing’s Adam McGill and Chris Bithell both
made the podium at the Ironman round of the 2010
GNCC series, while U2 class champion, Cliff Beasley
took his thirteenth straight win of the year, giving
him a perfect season.
Good weather was on tap for the final round of
the season, but dust became an issue due to dry
conditions that have persisted in the mid-west,
but that didn’t stop Adam McGill from making
a hard charge and taking second place on the Pro
podium.
McGill was in mid-pack off the start in the XC1
Pro class, but a slight get off put him back several
positions. After remounting his machine, McGill
put the hammer down as he powered his way from
ninth to fifth in one lap. By lap four, McGill
was in a position to challenge teammate Chris
Bithell, who was holding down second. McGill made
his move and took over the number two spot in
the final lap and held it all the way to the checkered
flag. McGill’s consistency and determination
allowed him to finish his season in a respectable
third in the championship points chase. “I’ve
had a great season thanks to Can-Am and Warnert
Racing and I am hoping to do even better next
season,” said McGill.
Chris Bithell came on strong for the final round
as he made an incredible charge from seventh up
to second place by lap two. Bithell held down
the number two spot for three laps before falling
back to finish in third and claim the final spot
on the podium. Bithell would finish his season
in a solid fourth in the Pro points race.
