Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill came on strong
to take his second pro podium of the season at round
four of the 2010 GNCC series, while teammate Cliff
Beasley secured his fourth straight win of the year
in the U2 class.
While most GNCC racers prefer
a little moisture when racing, the conditions
at Big Buck in Union, SC were dry and dusty, but
that didn’t stop Adam McGill from making
a hard charge to the podium. McGill got off to
a mid-pack start, but quickly began picking off
the competition and by the end of lap two; McGill
was in the number four spot and gaining ground
on teammate Chris Bithell, who was in third. McGill
took over third in the final lap and was catching
up to the leaders, but would run out of time before
he would be able to close the gap enough to make
a move, which put him in third overall with a
time of 02:09:04. “I hit a tree in the third
lap and that slowed me down a little bit, but
overall I had a really good race and I am happy
to be on the podium again,” stated McGill,
who is holding on to third in the pro points race.

Cliff Beasley continued his winning streak in
the morning’s U2 class. Beasley was second
in the holeshot but took the lead shortly into
the first lap. Once he was out front, Beasley
never looked back. Even a close encounter with
a tree in the fourth lap couldn’t slow him
down as he went on to take his class win with
a time of 02:18:41. “Last year there wasn’t
as much competition in the 4x4 Lites class as
there is in the U2 class this year, and even though
I won a lot of races last season, this year it
seems to mean a little more to be able to come
out here with this much competition and still
win for the Can-Am Warnert team,” said Beasley.
4x4 Limited class racer, Michael Swift, kept
a fast and steady pace as he charged his way to
a second place finish. Swift’s determination
and speed have him in the points lead for the
4x4 Limited class as he inches his way closer
to his fourth straight GNCC championship.
The next round of the 2010 GNCC series will be
held at Hurricane Mills, TN on April 24th where
the famous Loretta Lynn’s Ranch will play
host as the Warnert team prepares to see its racers
dominate their classes
