St. Cloud, MN (3/24/2010) - Warnert
Racing’s Cliff Beasley and Bryan Buckhannon
dominated the U2 and 4x4 Open classes, while College
A class racer, Jamie Bithell took his first win
of the season at round three of the 2010 GNCC series.
Steele Creek in Morganton, NC was the hosting
facility where great weather and near perfect
track conditions were on tap for Saturday’s
events, as the morning classes began to line up.
A four lap race was anticipated and U2 class racer
Cliff Beasley was more than ready.
Beasley charged off the line, took the lead and
never looked back. With every lap, Beasley increased
his lead by over one minute ahead of the competition.
Beasley laid down the fastest lap time of his
class in lap two with a time of 30:30.7. Beasley’s
fast pace kept him ahead of the pack and allowed
him an easy win. Beasley finished with a time
of 02:00:02, which was five minutes ahead of second
place and landed him in ninth overall in the morning
classes.

Bryan Buckhannon also ran a strong race in the
4x4 Open class. Buckhannon was in second place
off the line and paced himself for the first couple
of laps and trailed the leader by only two seconds.
In lap three, Buckhannon knew it was time to make
his move and took over the lead. Once out front,
Buckhannon began to pull away and would finish
with a time of 02:00:54, giving him his second
win of the season and giving him a little more
cushion as the class points leader.
Women’s class racer, Lexie Coulter, once
again found her way to the podium, taking a solid
second in her class and third place overall. “I
got my best start so far this season and I just
tried to stay close to the front and pace myself
for the first couple of laps,” stated Coulter,
who swapped positions several times with leader
Traci Cecco, before getting hung up in lap traffic.
Coulter’s strong performance so far this
season has her sitting in the points lead in the
Women’s class.
In the afternoon classes Jamie Bithell claimed
his first win of the season in the College A class,
which propelled him into the points lead. Bithell
got off to a mid pack start and put on a hard
charge, working his way into the number three
spot by the end of the first lap. Bithell would
then work into second and hold that spot for two
laps before making a hard charge to take the lead
and his class win.
Round four of the 2010 GNCC series will head to
Union, SC for the Pirelli Big Buck round on April
10th where the Warnert Racing team’s racers
will be chasing after more wins.
