Walsh Race Craft's
Jeremy Lawson Places Third in AMA Pro ATV MX
AMA
ATV MX Pro Championships - Round 11 - Loretta
Lynn's - August 13, 2011
Live Oak, FL (8/17/2011) - This
season was exciting to say the least; we all worked
very hard to be successful and would not have had
such a good year without the help of our sponsors.
Jeremy Lawson was consistently one of the fastest guys on the track at each
round and the Walsh Race Craft's Suzuki LT-R450
was consistently one of the fastest and most reliable
quads all season. Due to our consistency we were
able to stay near the front of the point standings
all season, until round 10…
After about six rounds had gone by there were
four riders that could
rightfully be included in the championship race.
However things would start
sifting out after round seven when Chad Wienen,
the point leader at that
time, suffered a season ending injury and the
battle would be left to three
men. With Wienen out of the race, the championship
battle was left to John
Natalie, Josh Upperman and Jeremy Lawson.
Going into round ten at Red Bud in Michigan,
Jeremy was third in the point
standings, with a win Jeremy would put himself
in potential for the
championship at the last round. Jeremy was feeling
very fast at round ten,
as he set the fastest qualifying time in both
practice sessions. With a
strong third place start we were looking good
in order to claim our first
moto win of the season. However at the end of
the first lap, as Jeremy went
for the pass on Joel Hetrick for second place
in an option lane corner,
neither rider would let off the throttle and they
collided exiting the
corner. Jeremy took a hard fall that ‘rang
his bell’ as our chance at the
championship faded away.
Our season came to an end on Saturday, August
Thirteenth, at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch
in Hurricane Mills Tennessee, where we finished
4th overall in the final round of our 2011 motocross
series.
