Race Craft's Jeremy Lawson 2011 AMA Pro ATV Motocross
round three at Ballance MX started similarly to
rounds one and two, it was a beautiful day, our
crew had the quad ready to go and Jeremy Lawson
was looking forward to doing battle on the race
track.
As timed qualifying got under way, Jeremy was
feeling out the track as usual and holding on
to the fourth fastest time. Moto 1; With a good
gate pick we lined up in the first spot to the
left of the house and with a good reaction Jeremy
pulled through the holeshot and came around the
first corner in fifth.
Our biggest current competitor Josh Upperman
pulled the holeshot and was in the lead for about
half of the moto until John Natalie took the top
spot. Jeremy made a pass on Devin Heimes for fourth
place and was now looking at Upperman who was
currently in third. However Jeremy was battling
arm pump and was not able to push to make the
pass for third and finished the moto in fourth.
This was an improvement over the first two rounds
first motos and the team was anxious for the second
moto.

Moto 2; Due to Jeremy having some arm pump issues
we decided to make a few adjustments to the steering
stabilizer and suspension. With fourth choice on
gate pick again we decided to line up in the same
position as we did in moto one and again Jeremy
came out well, but this time he came around the
first corner in fourth place. Again Upperman came
out ahead of Lawson but a little over half way through
the moto Lawson found himself pressuring Upperman
and after a couple of laps of battling Lawson made
the pass and pulled away from him, securing the
third place position and his spot on the podium.
Jeremy was the featured rider on the event t-shirts
and awards. Jeremy spent an hour in the Moto-Tees
trailer signing hundreds of autographs. Jeremy
Lawson and Mike Walsh did numerous interviews
for the Racer TV on Versus television coverage.
With Lawson going 4-3 and Upperman going 3-4 we
remain 10 points behind, however we have secured
fourth place in the standings and with our first
podium finish for 2011 we are confident that we
can take 3rd overall soon!
