Twin
Air's Chris Borich takes his 3rd win
of the season at Big Buck GNCC |
Perkasie, PA (4/11/2011) - Big
Buck in Union, SC was Round 4 of the Can-Am
GNCC race series this past weekend. Twin Air
sponsored riders were again at the front of
the race.Warm, dry, and dusty conditions challenged
the rider’s endurance.
In the morning races Twin Air sponsored
riders took three class wins, a second place
finish, and a third place finish. In the women’s
class it was the Twin Air sponsored Foremost
Insurance/Warnert Racing/Can-Am racer Lexie
Coulter taking her second win of the season
and second overall for the morning race. She
sits in first place in points for the season.
U2 class racer Clifton Beasley took his Twin
Air sponsored UXC Racing Can-Am to his fourth
consecutive win and sits on top of the point
standings. Meanwhile in the 4x4 Open class
Twin Air riders Bryan Buckhannon and UXC Racing’s
Michael Swift lead the pack with first and
second finishes. Swift leads the points with
Buckhannon sitting in second. Twin Air sponsored
Mike Penland finished the day in third in
the 4x4 Super Senior Class. It was a great
weekend of racing for our morning class racers.
The afternoon races saw more success for
our riders. Twin Air sponsored Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki
rider Chris Borich rebounded from a disappointing
fifth place finish at round three with a dominating
XC-1 Pro win at round four. Electrical problems
dropped him back after taking the lead at
round three. He came to Big Buck wanting to
show his competitors what he is made of. He
took the lead earlier in the race than in
past races and pulled away to take a convincing
win. He extended his points lead in the process.
Twin Air sponsored Foremost Insurance/Warnert
Racing/Can-Am riders Adam McGill and Chris
Bithell had great days as well. McGill charged
to the front of the race early and lead for
a couple of laps. McGill and Borich pulled
away from the rest of the pack. Borich made
a pass to take the lead but McGill stayed
with him for a while. McGill dropped back
a bit but held on for a strong second place
performance. He now sits in second overall
for the season. Bithell’s race started
off with a mid pack start. He was able to
move up to fourth by race end finishing behind
third place rider Taylor Kiser. Rounding out
the top five was Twin Air sponsored FRE/KTM
rider Bryan Cook. He is now in sixth place
overall after four rounds.
In XC-2 racing action Twin Air sponsored
DeRisi Racing rider Eric Hoyland finished
on the podium again with a third place finish.
He sits in third overall for the season. Fellow
Twin Air rider Patrick McGuire had his best
finish of the year with an impressive fourth
place finish. That moves him into the sixth
position for the season. In other afternoon
race action, DeRisi Racing rider Luke Reeves
took home the second place position in the
Junior A class. His consistent performances
this year have him in second place in the
point standings.
Round five of the GNCC series takes us to
Loretta Lynn’s in Hurricane Mills, TN.
It is sure to be another great weekend of
racing as the points battles heat up.
