Triumph Motorsports' Youth ATV Racers Dominate WORCS Round 5
WORCS ATV Racing - Round 5 - Honolulu Hills - Taft, CA - May 11-12, 2013

Jerry Maldonado - Yamaha Raptor 250 ATV
Triumph Motorsports' Jerry Maldonado won both Production 250 & Production 250 Sport at WORCS Round 5

Corona, CA (5/14/2013) -This past weekend at WORCS in a very hot Taft, Ca the Production 250 & Production 250 Sport classes were dominated by Triumph Motorsports' racers. The top 5 racers from both classes are all sponsored by Triumph Motorsports. These Production classes are Yamaha Raptor 250 based, very competitive, and definitely one of the races to watch at all the WORCS events. These young men and women are the future of ATV racing. Triumph has been working with the Raptor 250 since 2009 and has spent a lot of time with R&D for parts and motor work. Triumph's own Jerry Maldonado Swept both classes with Holeshots in both and leading from start to finish.

Jerry Maldonado's Race Report - "It was a hot weekend in Taft, California as myself and the other racers prepared for our races. Our first race of the weekend was the Production 250 Sport class on Saturday which I am currently the point's leader in. I had my hopes up and had a good feeling about this one. With most of my skills in motocross and jumping, I knew that this would be the perfect race for me.

The first race I was second to the first corner and stayed in second until the end of the first lap. We were red flagged and sent back to the starting line. With our faces red and dripping with sweat, we had to mentally prepare ourselves to restart the race. This was the perfect chance for me to get some fresh air and take off. I managed to get the holeshot on the restart and get comfortable. By the end of the second lap I had an eight second lead until I was caught by Alex Ortiz. Alex and I fought a good race for another two laps and I stayed up front the whole time. Showing good sportsmanship, Alex and I high-fived each other after the finish. Exhausted and about to boil over, I immediately got into cooler clothes and lay in the air conditioning of our trailer. Lying there, I was thinking about how awesome that race was. That was one of the most exciting races of my riding career!

My last race of the weekend was the Production 250 class, I am currently 3rd in points overall in this class. With my quad staged with the same spot from the previous day's race, I geared up and went to the starting line. Hydrated and pumped, I had confidence in myself knowing that I had the potential to win. With the green flag up and my clutch dropped, my STI tires and Triumph Motorsports motor working together, they helped me get my second holeshot of the weekend! It was just me and the fresh air up front no dust and clear visibility, I was able to pull a strong lead by the end of the first lap. With Buddy Williams hot on my trail, I knew that the race wasn't over. Pushing the whole time and never looking back, I managed to keep the lead and finish in first place again. I was so excited I barely even felt hot even though it was over 100 degrees outside and I had just raced for 30 minutes!

I rode back to our Pit and thought to myself this is why I train so hard in my off time, this is why I don’t eat desserts, and this is why I go to bed early the night before a race! It was all so worth it!! I cannot wait for the next WORCS race in Pala, Ca!"

"We take a lot of pride in our own kids winning races, but when you help out as many kids as we do, anyone of these kids could have won and we would be proud, either way Triumph would have been on top". - Anthony Martin

Congratulation goes out to all the racers!
