points leader in three WORCS classes |
Corona, CA (6/21/2012) - Triumph's
Alex Ortiz dominates his youth WORCS classes again
this past weekend in Enterprise, Utah. This young
man has one of the strongest drives to be number
1 each and every weekend. It is hard to find kids
today with this much heart and talent. Alex Ortiz
hales from Moapa, Nevada with property so close
to Josh Frederick there is no wonder why this
young man can fly through the desert!
Alex races WORCS with a staggering 4 Classes:
Shifter open, 12-15 Production, Shifter open sport
, and 12-15 Production sport. Alex currently has
overall first places in 3 of 4 of these classes.
The last one he is in second 7 points down from
first. These classes are not a small local racing
classes. These classes can reach 18-24 entries
of the fastest youth racers offered on the West
Coast
Anthony Martin of Triumph Motorsports says "Here
at Triumph we believe these youth racers are the
future of our sport. Helping these young guns
are sometimes more fun to watch grow than racing
myself"

"This was a hard race. Very rocky and dusty
in spots. The water crossing was very different
and I had a few issues at times. First 2 races
were very clean runs other than a front tire going
down in the first race. Third race was hard battling
Raymond and Devin. I got to second but couldn't
hold the pace and fell to third. Sundays race
was not bad other then getting a flat in the first
lap. I was able to hold first till the last lap
when I got passed and finished 2nd." Say's
Alex.
Alex's Dad Jim has both hands deep into Alex's
program. Jim -" My son is able to push himself.
I try to have the bike right for him and then
it's all about Alex doing his thing. He never
quits, flat tire or not. He pushes himself the
whole time he is on the track.
Shifter Open: 40min - 1st place - Good race very
clean run till the end when he flattened a front
tire. He had about a 30sec lead till the end and
was able to hold off Devin Borges and finish in
first place.
12-15 Production: 50min - 1st place - Alex was
second out on the start but was able to get to
first before go into the off-road. He had a very
clean run with only a minor issue at one of the
water crossing. He was able to stretch his lead
1:17 by the finish.
Shifter Open Sport: 40min - 3rd place - This
is a tough race for Alex being the 3rd of the
day. He got pushed off the track at the start
and was last off the start. He set a good pace
and was able to work up to 2nd. He ran out of
steam and slid back to 3rd for the finish. Not
bad he was whooped after that one.
12-15 Production Sport: 50min - 2nd place - Alex
got a good start and was pushing hard to stay
out front. He had a good lead as some of the other
racers had issue early in the race. Alex had cut
a tire on the first lap. He worked hard to stay
out front but in the end a hard charging Jacob
Stevens was able to catch Alex on the last lap.
Alex was ok with 2nd after running the race on
a front flat.
Alex also gets great support from Doug Roll.
Doug has worked very well with Alex. Alex can
give good feedback on what the bike is doing or
not doing. Doug has Alex's Elka stage 4 shocks
dialed in so he can ride as hard as he wants.
Alex said "The harder I hit things the better
the bike works".
That is what helps Alex get to the top box, Doug
Roll. Sponsors- Triumph Motorsports , Elka , Roll
