- Factory Can Am's Hunter Miller continues to dominate
the Central US premier ATV Racing series with wins
proving once again that the Miller DS450 combination
is unstoppable. With Miller proving every race weekend
that the Can Am DS 450 machines are a winning package
more of the TQRA pros and amateurs are making the
switch to the Can AM machines. Past TQRA champion
Johnny Hale is now flying the Can Am colors. "The
DS 450 is a great machine and I am confident that
I can win races with it," said Hale.
Hunter Miller TQRA Round 9 Pro Am race
report:
Round 9 was held in Still Water, OK at the famous
Cooperland Raceway. The heat index was around
the 105 degree mark all weekend. The track dried
out very fast and became very dryslick with sharp
edged holes all around the track. My Goldspeed
tires are ideal for these conditions and held
solid traction throughout all the corners giving
me a great edge on the competition and deserve
credit for key passes made during the weekend
resulting in wins for our race team.
The expert moto was one of the first races of
the day and the track was
extremely wet from the track crew. I started the
race in second place and
immediately was covered in mud. I pulled all my
tear offs and rode the
race almost blind for 7 laps and finished in second
place. In the second
moto I started off mid pack and was pushing towards
the front. Some bad
luck resulted in me finishing 8th in the moto
giving me 5th overall for
the weekend.
Our first Pro Am Moto I started the race in 3rd
place and quickly moved
into first place after 1st and 2nd place collided
in a corner and I
placed my Can Am on the inside of the to riders
moving into 1st place. I
quickly stretched my lead on the pack and finished
the race in first
place.
In the second moto my Can Am DS450 pulled great
out of the gate and I
grabbed the holeshot. After holding off the pack
for a 2 laps I began to
pull away for a comfortable victory. Fellow Can
Am rider Johnny Hale
finished 4-3 for 2nd overall for the weekend putting
both of the Can Am
machines on the podium.
Round 10 of the TQRA series was held
at Village Creek MX Park in Ft. Worth, TX.

Hunter
Miller secured 4 moto wins at Village Creek
MX two of them being in the Expert motos
& the other two in the Pro-Am class
- all were come-from-behind victories as
Miller fought his way through the pack |
The ATV racers had a much needed break from the heat as this race was held under
the lights at Village Creek MX. The night track
is very technical and supercross styled. Precision
timing and machine control is needed on the track.
Wayne Morradian founder of PEP Suspension helped
me set up my DS 450 shocks to perform perfectly
on this tight track. I was able to attack the very
treacherous whoop section faster than any other
racer that weekend and is the main location on the
track I made all my passes. My machine was handling
great all weekend and allowed me to ride smooth
and consistent.
The first expert moto was the only moto that was
held while it was still
slightly daylight. I got off to a second place
start, but a second turn
tangle up put me back to fourth. I quickly moved
into the second spot and
began trying to chase down the leader. There was
a very difficult whoop
section on the track where I was able to make
up large amounts of time.
Around the half-way point I caught up to the first
place rider. I waited
patiently to get to the whoop section where I
knew I could make a clean
pass. From there I pulled away to win the first
moto of the day.
The second expert moto was almost an exact replica
of the first moto. I
was off to a second place start, but this time
I stayed out of trouble
through the first two turns. Once again, I waited
patiently for a clean
spot to pass. On the second lap, I was able to
make a pass in the whoops
and pull away to the win.
In the first pro-am moto, I got off to a fourth
place start. After some major bumping in the first
two turns, I was able to move into second place.
I rode smooth and waited for a good passing opportunity.
Once again I was able to make a pass in the whoops
and pull away for the win. The second pro-am moto
was a repeat of the first. This time I started
second and made a pass for the lead in the whoops.
From that point I pulled away again for my fourth
moto win of the day.
Going into the last two rounds of the TQRA series
points are tight in both the Expert and Pro Am
class. I am currently in the lead in the both
the Expert and the Pro Am classes. I am confident
that we have a winning combination and I am ready
to bring home a championship for Can Am!
