AMA ATV MX Nationals - Round 10 - Buchanan, MI - July 30, 2011

Josh Upperman - Honda TRX450R

TOP's Josh Upperman placed third Overall at Red Bud MX aboard his Honda TRX450R ATV

Galena, IL (8/2/2011) - After a long layoff from racing for most of the month of June all T.O.P. Riders were ready to get back to racing in July. Unfortunately as you already know point’s leader Chad Wienen had a season ending injury during the break. With Chad out we knew other T.O.P. athletes would step up and do their best to get on the top spot. July was the busiest month of racing for racers but our riders did a great job of resuming right where they left off in June.

Round 8- Sunday Creek
The new venue on the circuit proved to be a good one for Josh Upperman and Thomas Brown. Despite adverse weather conditions Upperman took the overall in his home state. Brown powered his Ballance Racing Yamaha to a third place finish. Nick DeNoble battled back strong in the first moto after a bad start to earn himself 6th in the moto and 5th overall. Joel Hetrick battled up front all day until the end of moto two when a mechanical issue sent him back 13th. He finished the day 6th overall.

Sunday Creek Rundown: Upperman- Overall Winner (2-1) and winner of both SSi Decals Holeshot Awards , Brown – 3rd (3-3), DeNoble – 5th (6-5), Hetrick – 6th (4-13)

Joel Hetrick - Honda TRX450R

TOP's AMA ATV MX Pro Rookie took his first Pro Career win by sweeping both motos at Unadilla MX

Round 9- Unadilla
Joel Hetrick showed veteran poise at Unadilla claiming his first professional overall. Conditions were rough but Hetrick was not fazed, he put his head down and won both motos. Upperman was looking to keep him momentum going from Ohio, he got off to a good start in both motos and finished the day 2nd overall. Brown would finish the day 6th overall. DeNoble ripped the holeshot in moto 1 and held strong to finish 4th. He was looking strong all day until an unforeseen issue sent him to the back of the pack in moto 2.

Unadilla Rundown: Hetrick- Overall Winner (1-1) & winner of moto 2 SSi Decals Holeshot Award, Upperman- 2nd (2-3), Brown- 6th (6-7), DeNoble- 10th (4-16) & moto 1 SSi Decals Holeshot Award

Round 10- Red Bud
Upperman’s consistency all year has landed him in a very tight point’s battle for the championship. He started very strong at Red Bud pulling both holeshots and battled hard all day in the heat to take third overall. Brown has showed what superior dedication can do. He fought very hard in the hot Michigan air to take the moto 1 win and almost took the win again in moto 2. His strongest showing of the year landed him 2nd overall for the day. Hetrick went off the track in moto 1 after making contact with another racer. He came back in moto 2 and took 4th. DeNoble finished 7th in moto 1 and 17th the second moto.

Red Bud Rundown: Brown- 2nd (1-2), Upperman-3rd (3-3) & winner of both SSi Decals Holeshot Awards, Hetrick- 8th(16-4), DeNoble- 14th (7-17)
Pro Am- Jesse Barnes has continued to show that he is one of the fastest Pro Am racers on the circuit. His drive to succeed landed him inside the top 10 in 10 out of 12 motos he raced in July. The combination of his dedication and consistency has put him in the top 5 in both Pro Am classes with only one round to go.

Sean Taylor and Cody Suggs both resumed racing in July after early season shoulder injuries forced them to take some time away from racing. We look forward to seeing what these two are able to do at Loretta Lynn’s in a few weeks.

Bryan Vollmer has been suffering from a wrist injury but is still sitting on top of the points standings in the Production B class. With only one round left in the series we’re anxious to see how the final round will pan out. If things go well for Vollmer he may win the championship in his first season of racing in the US.

Mark Watson has continued to see great results in the ACU British Quadcross Championship series. Despite a few mechanical setbacks Watson is sitting second in points and has the speed to be at the front at each round.

We would like to congratulate all of our riders on their accomplishments so far on the season and can’t wait to see how things shake down at Loretta’s in a few weeks.
