Chad Wienen
received the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier
Award and won both motos

Galena, IL (3/3/2011) - The first
round of the AMA Pro ATV Motocross Championship
proved to be a good one for T.O.P. trained riders.
Chad Wienen started the season exactly as planned.
His offseason dedication showed as he was able to
put down the fastest lap time of the weekend in
route to a 1-1 performance. In the first moto Chad
came out of the holeshot in the front of the pack
and within a few laps he was able to pass for the
lead and never looked back. Chad came around the
first turn in the 2nd spot in moto two and was in
the lead halfway through the first lap. Once in
the lead he set a comfortable and consistent pace
until the checkers waved with him still in the lead

T.O.P. Pro
Rookie Joel Hetrick made is Pro Class
debute and took an impressive 6th overall
finish
|
Other T.O.P. riders in the pro class also showed
a lot of promise and will continue to battle as
the season moves forward. Rookie Joel Hetrick
rode impressive all weekend. He came off of the
line near the front of the pack in the first moto
and finished in 6th after battling with some of
the most seasoned vets in the pro field. He showed
what he is capable of in the 2nd moto coming off
the line near the back of the back and pushed
his way forward to another 6th place finish giving
him 6th overall for the weekend. Nick Denoble
finished both motos in the 7th spot taking 7th
overall for the weekend. We know Nick is motivated
and isn’t satisfied being 7th and we look
forward to see him move into the top 5 at the
next round. Thomas Brown had a few mechanical
issues at the first round but we know what he
is capable of and he showed that he has the ability
to run with the fastest guys in the business.
We’re excited to see what all of our pro
riders have in store for the second round and
we look forward to getting more of these guys
up on the podium soon!
The Pro-Am classes proved to be ultra competitive
and we’re excited about the many athletes
we have riding in this class. Jesse Barnes, with
nearly no seat time this winter, rode to his best
finish ever in the Pro-Am class. He claimed fourth
overall on Sunday and finished 3rd in the second
moto. With more seat time as the Iowa weather
turns to spring and his increased confidence knowing
he can run the pace upfront we’re looking
for great things out of Jesse this year. Cody
Suggs, who had plans of mixing it up at the front
of the pack, broke a tie rode sending him off
the bike and dislocating his shoulder. We know
how dedicated Cody is and are going to be working
with him to ensure his level of fitness is even
higher when he returns to action in a few rounds.
Absent from racing action this weekend was Sean
Taylor. Unfortunately he had a get off a few weeks
back and broke his collar bone. He’s ready
to show that his offseason commitment will propel
him to the front at the next round in Alabama.
Canadian Bryan Vollmer ran in the top 5 in the
B class in his first motocross action in the US.
Again, another rider with very little seat time
in the last couple of months, Bryan will look
to build on his performance and continue his off
the bike training with T.O.P. until the weather
allows him to get on the tracks in Ontario.
In other T.O.P. news we would like to congratulate
T.O.P. rider Mark Watson for his recent British
Supercross Championship. We’re excited about
having Mark represent us this year on the other
side of the pond.
Congrats are in order for WORCS B Class rider
Matt Hancock on winning both of his B Class races
this weekend. Matt collected his first two WORCS
wins while finishing over a minute ahead of this
competition is both races. His conditioning allowed
him to put down his fastest lap in the Production
B race on the fourth lap of the five lap race.
