R.J. Anderson (Walker Evans Racing) and Rory Beckman (FOX), who both claimed wins at Round 1 for the Mystik Lubricants Terracross Championship, were two of the Pro class winners at Round 2 on the Terracross schedule, the SnoBarons Haydays event. A mecca for Midwest powersports enthusiasts, Haydays typically plays host to upwards of 40,000 fans and boasts one of the largest powersports swap meets in the world. This crowd knows good racing and they packed the grandstands and crowded the fences to see what Terracross had to offer.

Anderson, who swept the Polaris RZR Pro TX SXS class at ERX Motor Park during Round 1 of the Championship, entered Round 2 as the favorite to win. He did, claiming the win in the fourth race of the championship but before taking that win he showed a chink in his armor, giving up the first race to Zac Zakowski (Zakowski Motorsports). Anderson got taken out on the second lap, falling victim to the tight Haydays track where bump passes were the norm. Andrew Carlson (Sportech) claimed two second place finishes on the weekend and is poised to make a run at the points championship.

Daryl Rath (Mystik Lubricants) returned to Haydays after having a rough outing at ERX Motor Park where a crash left him unable to race and he just took starts. Rath won one of the FOX Pro TX Quad 4x4 Stock races giving up the other one to Beckman, who also claimed a win at ERX. Zakowski took two second place finishes.

JR Hinds, who didn’t compete at the ERX Motor Park event, swept the Speeding with Style comp suddenly making him a front runner in the class.

“This is a really tight track and unfortunately I had some issues in the first race and couldn’t continue,” said Anderson. “It was nice to come back in the second race and get the win.”

“I finally got some breaks and got a win!” said Zakowski. “I worked hard in the first race to get second and was ready to do whatever it took to get the win. I got a great start and led the entire way, winning by like 20-seconds which was nice.”

“This track is so tight, starts are really key,” said Beckman. “These races are so tough, I just try to focus on being consistent and hitting all my marks and hope for the best. It worked out good again this weekend.”
