Tracy, CA (11/18/2009) -Teixeira
Tech would like to thank the racers who
ran their linkage and a-arms across multiple
ATV racing disciplines this season. 2009
was a break out success for many new Teixeira
Tech racers with class championships as
well as national top ten finishes.
GNCC Racing
Duane Johnson made his strong comeback finishing
#8 for the year in PRO class. Kevin Blundell
raced in the Junior B Class and racked up
three 1st places, and finished 3rd for year.
Mike Husband raced in the Vet A (30+) class
and dominated with four 1st places and finished
1st in class for the year. Brandon Carter
ran Vet A (30+) as well, and finished out
the year with 4th in class. These top performing
GNCC racers utilized the Teixeira Tech linkage
for the TRX450R, which works with the stock
swingarm, uses a 17.5” shock, and
industry leading great ground clearance.
Several of the racers, including Johnson
also ran Teixeira Tech +1 Maximum Ground
Clearance A-Arms, which held up to the abuse
of cross country racing.
GNC MX Racing
A team of sisters carried the flag for Teixeira
Tech. Kayle Dyer won the overall 1st place
for the women’s class with six 1st
places, two 2nd places and one 3rd place.
Her sister, Kelsey Dyer, was able to edge
out her sister at the last round of the
series with her first win of the season
in the women’s class in her 1st appearance,
with Kayle finishing in second.
WORCS
In a WORCS season that saw record turnouts
of over 600 participants at various rounds,
Justin Waters came out strong in his rookie
season, running the competitive PRO Class
with a 10th place for the year. Tim Shelman
raced in the PRO class as well, and ended
up 13th for year. Cole Fite raced Sport
15-29 B and ended up with four 1st places,
and 2nd overall for year. Cole also ran
Open B and compiled two 2nd places, two
1st places, two 3rd places for 2nd overall
for year. Cole races a 250 cc quad against
450 quads because he is legally too young
to run a 450, but still is still able to
stay competitive and take wins on a smaller
machine.
Best In The Desert (BITD)
In the Best in the Desert (BITD) series,
Doug Bergstrom not only took 2nd overall
for the year, but also took his Honda TRX450R,
decked out with Teixeira Tech products to
a Vegas to Reno win in the Expert class.
This is a rugged series that test both man
and machine, and Teixeira Tech parts passed
with high marks for durability and performance.
In Other Regional Races
Duane Johnson teamed up with fellow Teixeira
Team member, Michael Burrows to win the
PRO class at the Heartland Challenge 10
Hour Race. Josh Eaton won the AA and overall
title in the Iowa state cross - country
Series (IATVHSS) with 4 overall wins on
the year. In the new Missouri state cross
- country series, OXC Racing, Michael Burrows
took three overall wins, and missed the
title by one point. Carson Coffman took
one win, and ended up with 3rd place for
the year in PRO.
