LaSalle, Ontario (9/6/2011) -
Team Vollmer is extremely excited to announce
that after 11 rounds of intense competition
and travelling nearly 16,000 miles since February
Bryan Vollmer has won the Production B AMA ATATV
Motocross National Championship. As the points
were tallied after each round Bryan had actually
secured the championship after round 9 at Unadilla
in New York.
Bryan was very fortunate that his exceptional
performance the preceding 8 rounds put him in
this position as a crash in his College 16-24
class at Unadilla resulted in Bryan fracturing
his right wrist. Bryan did continue on to the
final 2 rounds but his injury would not allow
him to compete at his usual level. When Bryan
was asked how he felt about his 2011 season
he said “I couldn’t be happier with
this season’s end result. What more can
you ask for than winning a championship!I had
my weak moments just like anybody else, even
some adversity with my wrist injury. I guess
that was my subconscious way of keeping things
interesting! I’m sure my team members
would appreciate it if I kept things a little
less complicated for next season though. I figure
I owe them that much seeing as none of this
would have been possible without them and all
my sponsors supporting me along the way, a big
thanks goes out to everyone who’s helped
me out this season. I really appreciate it!”
Now that the 2011 season is in the books it’s
time to start looking ahead to 2012. Bryan had
this to say when asked about his plans leading
up to and during the 2012 season “ For
now I plan to focus on my wrist and getting
it back to 100%, it looks like my cast will
come off on September 7th so I plan to start
rehabilitating it right away. If it feels good
enough after a couple weeks of training I may
enter a couple regional races in Canada to keep
me sharp. As for winter training I will be spending
some time with my trainer Chad Wienen at his
place for a week or two this fall, there is
also a good chance I will spend some time with
him in Florida after Christmas. We’ll
see how things pan out. Regardless of what happens
I will be turning my training up a notch or
two to prepare myself for the next step of my
career, the Production A class. If all goes
well I also hope to be entering the Pro Am Unlimited
class at some point as well.”
Bryans team will be switching into planning
mode as well and begin preparations for next
year. There is lots to be accomplished between
now and next season and everybody at Team Vollmer
are very anxious to start working towards next
year’s goal of another National Championship!
Bryan would like
to thank all of his sponsors for their support:
Baldwin Motorsports, T.O.P. performance
training, Lonestar Racing, Motovan, Lennox,
Sunline, Pit Posse and Smith Optics.
