                                Shelbyville, TN (6/28/2012) -
UXC Racing’s Michael Swift claimed second
in the 4x4 Open class this past weekend at the
Snowshoe round of the 2012 GNCC series, while
teammate, Cliff Beasley still holds the points
                                lead in the U2 class.

The Snowshoe round, In West Virginia is one
of the most popular rounds in the series and
is known for its rough and tough terrain, but
that didn’t stop Michael Swift from grabbing
his class holeshot and taking the overall lead.
Swift fought hard and swapped positions between
the lead and second place several times before
making his lead stick in lap three. Unfortunately,
Swift began to encounter issues and fell back.
“At one point I ended up with a huge rock
wedge between my nerf bar and a-arm and I had
to get help from one of the spectators to get
it out. Then a little later, my transmission
was making an awful grinding noise and leaking
oil. We confirmed it was going out, but I just
kept going,” said Swift, who, despite
his difficulties, was able to finish second
on his class and close in a bit on the points
                                  leader.

Cliff Beasley wrecked early in the race
that took him out of the race for the
                                          day |

As the saying goes, “all good things
must come to an end,” and that was the
case for Cliff Beasley this weekend after a
violent crash took him out of the running early
in the race, ending his seven round winning
streak. Beasley suffered a huge cut on his elbow
that required many stiches, and his machine
was not repairable, putting an end to his day.
Luckily, Beasley was not hurt seriously and
plans to return for the John Penton round. “I’m
a little disappointed but that’s just
a part of racing. I’m going to rest up
a little and I should be healed enough or round
                                  nine,” said Beasley.
Tayton Swift, who participates in a few rounds
of racing each year with his father, Michael
Swift, had a good day in the 90 Limited class.
Snowshoe is Tayton’s favorite round and
it showed as he worked his way up from a seventh
place start and rounded out the top five in
his class at the checkered flag. “I’m
really proud of him. He did a great job out
there and he had a lot of fun and that’s
what it’s all about,” said Michael
                                  Swift.
Round number nine of the 2012 GNCC series will
head to Sunday Creek Raceway in Millfield, OH
for the John Penton round on July 7th where
the UXC Racing team will be going for their
class wins and the top of the morning podium.
