Shelbyville, TN (5/8/2012) -
Team UXC Racing’s Cliff Beasley remains
undefeated in the U2 class after rounds four and
five of the 2012 GNCC series, while Michael Swift
remains in second in points in the 4x4 Open class.
The last two rounds of the GNCC series have
been good for U2 class racer Cliff Beasley.
In round four, which was held at Big Buck in
Union, SC, dust was an issue and caused considerable
visibility problems for many racers, so Cliff
Beasley knew it was important to get a good
start and get ahead of the competition early
in the race, so Beasley grabbed the holeshot
and checked out. “I knew I needed to get
as much distance as possible between me and
everyone else because when we started getting
into lap traffic and dust, it would slow me
down a bit,” said Beasley, who braved
the tough conditions and took home the U2 class
win.

Michael Swift was also doing well at Big Buck,
despite the dusty conditions and was battling
it out for the lead in the 4x4 Open class, but
a mechanical issue slowed his efforts and gave
him a third place finish for the day.
Round five, which was dubbed “the Mammoth”
was held at Park City, TN and the Mammoth Park
Resort. The new track was tight and technical,
but the UXC Racing team was on top of their
game and ready for the tough course.
Cliff Beasley continued to dominate at the
Mammoth. The #203 racer was in second place
going into the first lap, but took over the
lead in lap two and pulled away. Beasley took
the U2 class win by almost two minutes ahead
of his closest competitor. “It feels really
good to win five in a row. I really have to
thank our team and all of our sponsors for helping
me to keep winning,” said Beasley.
The Mammoth was also a good race for #205,
Michael Swift. “It was a good day. We
didn’t have any issues and I had a good
finish,” said Swift who battled his way
to a close second place finish in his class.
Swift is currently second in series points and
only seven points off the lead, and is hoping
to close the gap at the next round.
Round number six of the 2012 GNCC series will
head to Springville, IN on May 12th for the
Limestone 100 where another new course waits
to be conquered by the UXC Racing team.
