Team UXC Racing's Michael Swift won the 4x4 Open ATV Class at Steele Creek GNCC in Morganton, NC

Shelbyville, TN (4/4/2012) - Team UXC Racing conquered the tough conditions at Steele Creek as Michael Swift battled hard and took the win in the 4x4 Open class while Cliff Beasley smoked the competition in the U2 class at round number three of the 2012 GNCC series.

This was a special round for the GNCC series as it was a benefit race for the March of Dimes. Team UXC Racing was in full support of the event with special purple graphics provided by SSI Decals and even special purple gear. “The March of Dimes is a wonderful organization and it means a lot to us to be able to come out here and show our support for such a great cause,” stated Michael Swift.

The UXC Racing Team also had some extra help in their pits this weekend that gave a little extra special meaning to their successful day. “We had our wives and children helping out in our pits this weekend. They did a great job and it was a lot of fun for all of us,” stated Swift.

Steele Creek is always one of the toughest rounds in the GNCC, even with picture perfect weather, like what was on hand this weekend, the rough terrain and tight trails cause frequent bottlenecks that make passing difficult at best. Maybe it was the good starts or maybe it was the special cheering section in their pits that gave them an edge, but either way, Michael Swift and Cliff Beasley put the hammer down and took wins in both of their classes.

In the 4x4 Open class, it was a battle from start to finish for Michael Swift as he and Bryan Buckhannon went bar to bar in a very heated competition. The lead was swapped several times over the course of the race, and even after flipping his quad in one of the many intense exchanges; Swift still came out ahead and took his first win of the season.

“It was a hard fought win, that’s for sure, but it felt good to finally take it. I want to thank Ian at SSI Decals for the special graphics for this round and I really want to thank our families for helping out in the pits this weekend,” said Swift, whose impressive performance also gave him fourth overall in the morning classes.

In the U2 class, Cliff Beasley made it look easy as he had a great start and took the early lead. “I was first going into the woods and even though it was pretty rough in there, I just kept pulling away,” said Beasley.

I also want to thank our families for their help this weekend as well, it was a lot of fun for all of us,” said Beasley.
