Lewisburg, TN (7/12/2011) -UXC
Racing’s Cliff Beasley dominated the U2
class and took his 27th consecutive win at round
number eight of the 2011 GNCC series while Michael
Swift charged hard and made his way to the 4x4
Open class podium.
Track conditions were good at Sunday Creek
in Millfield, OH and that helped Cliff Beasley
get a good start and take the lead. Beasley
increased his lead with each lap and rode a
solid race to take the U2 class win, his 27th
consecutive win. Beasley’s time of 01:50:17
was over four minutes ahead of anyone else in
his class and earned him seventh overall for
the morning classes. Beasley needs one more
win to wrap up the U2 class championship and
he is anticipating doing just that after the
summer break when the team heads to Unadilla.

In the 4x4 Open class, Michael Swift got a
good start and was in fourth place heading into
the woods. Swift picked off the competition
one by one and took the lead before the end
of the first lap. Swift was leading all the
way up to the final lap and he was battling
hard with Bryan Buckhannon, but in that last
lap, a rider who was spun out on a hill got
in the way and slowed Swift’s progress.
The hand up was just enough to let Buckhannon
get by. Swift put the hammer down, but could
not make the pass on Buckhannon before reaching
the checkered flag and finished in second place.
Swift still maintains the 4x4 Open points lead
and has every intension of keeping it that way.
“I’m happy with how I rode and
I still made the podium in my class. I’m
going to be working hard over the break and
training because I’m going to do whatever
it takes to win that championship,” said
Swift adamantly.

Although the summer break is at hand for GNCC
racing, the UXC Racing Team will not be taking
much time off as they will be once again participating
in the 12-hour Heartland Challenge endurance
race in August. Michael Swift and Cliff Beasley
will be teaming up to reclaim their title that
slipped away last season.
“We’re possibly going to be having
a third rider join us, and we will make an announcement
regarding that at a later time when everything
is confirmed,” said Swift.
The 4th Annual Heartland Challenge is scheduled
for August 19th – 21st in Carlisle, IA
where the UXC Racing team will be competing
for a big purse and for the chance to reclaim
their championship title.
