Team UXC Racing
/ Can-Am Riders Michael Swift &
Cliff Beasley both took podium by winning
the U2 class, 4x4 Open class, &
Morning Overall

Lewisburg, TN (6/28/2011) - UXC
Racing’s Michael Swift claimed the coveted
overall morning win at the Snowshoe round of the
2011 GNCC series, while teammate Cliff Beasley
remained undefeated in the U2 class and joined
Swift on the podium in third place overall.
The weather was good, but track conditions
were rough and muddy at Snowshoe for round number
seven of the 2011 season. The course, which
is based on the legendary Blackwater 100 started
with a 16 mile first lap, then was cut in half
for the morning classes and racers were to start
five at a time at five second intervals, but
that did not deter Michael Swift.

Michael Swift finished
with a time of 02:03:21.953 a little
over four minutes ahead of second place
|
Swift was given a fourth row start in the 4x4
Open class, and he was in a solid second off
the holeshot. Swift Followed Bryan Buckhannon
into the woods, but a wrong turn put Swift back
a couple of positions, but that didn’t
stop him from charging to the front before the
end of the first lap. From there, Swift checked
out on the competition, pulling a good sized
gap that allowed him the opportunity to just
ride smart and choose good lines in the final
lap that would lead him to his class win and
overall victory. “This was a tough race
and I am really proud to take this win! Before
the race, everyone was saying that this was
going to be a survival race because of the rough
track. But I didn’t come here to survive,
I came to win; and I was either going to break
trying, or I was going to win,” stated
Swift, who accredits his training program for
his ability to go above and beyond when other
racers are too tired to continue. “My
training program has really helped me a lot.
My strength and endurance are excellent and
I think that played a big part in helping me
win out there,” he added.

Hiper Wheels' Cliff
Beasley charged hard and took yet another
win this season in the U2 ATV Class
|
Meanwhile, U2 class racer, Cliff Beasley, was
charging his way to his 26th consecutive class
win. Beasley’s class was first off the
line with Beasley grabbing the holeshot. Beasley
was still holding down the lead going into the
woods and was looking smooth and consistent.
“After the first lap I kind of got into
a groove and just went for it,” said Beasley,
who held is lead from start to finish, claiming
the U2 class win and placing third overall on
the morning podium. “I’m happy to
take another win and I’m also glad to
be on the podium again. I have to give a big
thanks to Hiper Wheels, they held up great against
all those rocks out there, and my DP Brakes
also performed really well,” said Beasley.
With only one round left before heading into
the summer break, the UXC Racing team will be
busy getting ready for round eight, the John
Penton round, which will be held on July 9th
in Millfield, OH, where Michael Swift and Cliff
Beasley plan to take their class wins and dominate
the morning podium.
