Lewisburg, TN (6/1/2011) - Team
UXC Racing’s Cliff Beasley took his 25th
consecutive win in the U2 class at round number
six of the 2011 GNCC series, while teammate Michael
Swift claimed a top ten finish.
This was the first time for the UXC Racing
team to travel to Rock Run in Patton, PA where
they were greeted by an incredibly rocky track
that was definitely a challenge, but the true
competitive spirit of the team prevailed and
allowed Cliff Beasley to continue his domination
of the U2 class.
“I knew a good start would be crucial
because of all the rocks. I did not want to
be catching rocks the entire time,” said
Cliff Beasley, who grabbed the U2 class holeshot.
Beasley led from start to finish and claimed
his sixth straight win of the season. “I’m
really happy to take another win. I have to
thank Marc Spataro at Moto Pro training. I have
been working with him and I can really see a
difference. I also have to thank Maxxis Tires
because their tires did an excellent job in
all those rocks this weekend,” Beasley
added.

With the season now at the mid-way point, Beasley
has six wins under his belt and only needs three
more wins to wrap up his second consecutive
U2 class championship. “Snowshoe is always
a tough one, but I won there last year so I
am hoping I can do it again this season. If
I can get the rest of those wins out of the
way, that will take off some of the pressure
and I can relax a little bit,” said Beasley,
who is eager to give his sponsors another championship.
Michael Swift, who is usually in the winner’s
circle, right along with Beasley, was looking
strong as ever off the start in the 4x4 Open
class. Swift was in fourth off the start and
by the three mile marker, had taken over the
lead. Swift was battling with Bryan Buckhannon
the entire time with Buckhannon slipping by
after a pit stop. Swift closed back in and was
right on Buckhannon’s grab bar, waiting
for an opportunity to take back the lead, when
disaster struck. “It was a fast track
and we were both running wide open. I was right
behind Bryan and we went up this hill and I
caught a big rock. My four-wheeler came to a
very sudden stop, but I didn’t,”
Swift explained.

Swift came out of the ordeal a little bruised
but otherwise fine, however, the same could
not be said for his quad. “The quad was
badly damaged. The front end was broken, the
front differential was twisted, and the skid
plate was all bent up under the quad. I knew
that all I could do at that point was to ride
smart and salvage points,” said Swift,
who ended his day in sixth in his class, but
still maintains the points lead.
Round number seven of the 2011 GNCC series
will head to Snowshoe, WV on June 25th. Snowshoe
is one of the toughest rounds on the circuit,
but both Beasley and Swift took class wins there
last year and are looking to repeat that success
again for the 2011 season.
